If you get nothing else in Vellore, then you can take it for one or two nights. But don’t expect anything comfortable. You will just get skeleton of a room. Lady at the reception has a “why did you bother come here?” look. You will get this treatment because you are not from that part of the country. You will get only one water bottle upon check in. Then you buy yours by paying 25% extra, if you buy at the hotel. Bedsheets, bath towel, hand towel were fairly clean. From amenities perspective you can expect only 1small thin soap for your handwash, bath etc. No waste basket in the room or bathroom. No intercom, no wifi, no parking (as you are in the middle of a highway roundabout. The hotel details here talks about so many things, which are not there. The details also talks about room service. When there is no restaurant in the hotel, not sure what is the room service for. No restaurant, but on travel portals they show pics of restaurant with tables and chairs. No hooks in the bathroom, so put your things on the door handle. Bathroom in a bad shape. Leaky faucets. If you want to complaint, no intercom in the room and the mobile no they have given, no one picks up. So now you know what to expect if you planning to book a room there.

When I reached Vellore it was already late around 12:30 am in night I was travelling with my family Mother, Father, Wife and 2 small kids. I was on road trip so I have not pre booked hotel so when I reached Vellore I was searching for some budgeted hotel on google and visited around 5- 8 hotels. Every one was feeling very sleep and tired I was coming from Thanjavur at last my father said its too late let stay some where and finally decide to stay 'Sri Annamalaiyar Residency' which is near to highway. When we checked in, it was around 12:30 AM So after seeing the time and condition the manager was not ready to negotiated and charges around Rs 4480 for 2 AC rooms (104, 203) I checked the room It was big and not given any glance to bathroom or any other things. The manager asked me to pay in advance I swapped my card for full amount. I have lot of luggage now things start showing up "The lift was not working" so need to take luggage by stair with some help from their attender. Who was even not so interested. When we check AC remote was not there attender got from some other room so now AC was not working. We ask to change the room for which manager replied he don't have other room cleaned and other are booked will change in morning which I was not interested. So he opened other room and wife found bedbugs in room in some time. So asked to change this room also. We enter the 3 rd room 103 now next to my father room104 (The condition is also same for this room which I am mentioning below ) they didn't complain much because they are tired and want to sleep its already 1 am because of all this drama going on so I agree to get into the room which is also bed in condition When we checked in this new room 103 the bedsit is not properly clean The bathroom was in horrible condition and Broken Broken taps Cockroach all inside Flush tank and shover is not working. I need to use bucket in the morning in Wester toilet. I complaint to Manager he was not so interested in listening said ok ok will change in morning because of timing can't ask for return and mistake was I paid in full. I need to leave in morning so no point of morning. The bed bugs didn't let us sleep whole night they were in all rooms. They not even given water in rooms. They suppose to refund our money and In morning when I said I will give review it on trip advisor he was not so interested in listening.Over all Staff behaviour was also bed. This is the worst hotel I ever stayed.

One Night stay at Vellore

After Visiting Golden Temple at Sripuram, we decided to stay that night somewhere in Vellore or en route as the time was already coming close to 9:00Pm and we were not comfortable to drive further on that night. Unable to locate any good hotel enroute we have reached Vellore at 9:30Pm and after roaming few places, someone guide us to go near the bus stand which we did and came to see this hotel - Annamaiyar Residency. The rate for a double room quoted by the hotel was close to Rs.2000 (including GST), but we negotiated down to Rs.1200 per room (we wanted to occupy the room only for a few hours as our plan was to leave the hotel at 6:00AM next morning enable reach Tirupati in time). They have shown us the rooms and indeed it was quite big rooms with A/c, LED T/v etc. We agreed and paid for 5 rooms and occupied the rooms. But after occupying the rooms and checking thoroughly, we found that the toilet is in bad condition (stain marks inside the western closet with water leaking, flush not working, health faucet not working, mosquitoes around etc. etc. They have a restaurant attached to it and we all went there to eat our dinner. Food was ok and not much complaint. When we came back to the room and switch on the lights, found a couple of small cockroaches roaming around. We thought only one or two is there which we didn't take as serious, but when we woke up the next morning at 4:00 AM we found not two, but more cockroach babies crawling around freely, which means bigger ones are there somewhere hiding in the room. What we found about the hotel was, well-big comfortable rooms, but bad maintenance - time for repairing or renovating the toilets. May be, that could be the reason they came down on their tariff rates also rooms were available vacant even at that time (9:45PM) especially in such a prime area - close to the bus - stand.?!

The hotel is very close to the national highway - channai to bangalore. The location is very convenient but it is a very busy intersection. Rooms were spacious. It is an old but refurbished hotel. They do have a restaurant in premises. Vegetarian breakfast is complimentary. Plenty of veg and non- veg restaurants in the vicinity.icecream shops and teastations too. Very easy to travel from here into the town as autorickshaw and taxi available throughout as it's a busy area. Reception and staff were helpful and friendly. Overall I would say, good value for money ,for short stay. Car parking was in open ground( belongs to the hotel) behind the hotel. WiFi was decent. Available in rooms, password to be obtained as usual from reception. Hot water available for bath. Bedsheets and towels we're clean and toiletries were supplied.

Pocket friendly within 1.5k Good for day in day out option Not maintained well incl bed quality Clean towels, basic quality bathing kit Decent basic breakfast Courteous staff Just off the highway and at the main jn with easy access to railway station and bus station.
